(PRWEB) April 28, 2005 -- Craig Boddington, a widely read hunting authority and author of 18 big game hunting books, has joined SureFire as the director of outdoor market development. Boddington will help SureFire market its illumination tools and assist in promoting the SureFire brand among America's 18 million licensed hunters. "Craig Boddington's reputation in the hunting world is unparalleled. Craig's level of credibility and depth of understanding of the outdoor market will allow SureFire to bring our brand to the forefront of the hunting market," said SureFire vice president of corporate development Cameron Hopkins. "Of course Craig will continue his freelance writing career with Petersen's Hunting, Guns %26 Ammo and other publications where readers have enjoyed his stories of high-adventure hunting for nearly a quarter of a century," Hopkins added. Boddington's hunting accomplishments include taking Africa's Big Five, the nine principal species of spiral-horned antelopes and 24 of North America's 27 big game species. He has hunted on six continents, 29 American states, seven Canadian provinces and virtually every huntable African country. Part of Boddington's duties as SureFire's director of outdoor market development include hosting an African-themed hunting series on television and appearing at grand openings and other promotional events hosted by some of SureFire Authorized Dealers. He will also serve as SureFire's spokesman and appear in advertisements in the hunting market. While most hunting enthusiasts are well aware of Boddington's outdoor accomplishments, few know about his decorated military service. A colonel in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve, Boddington served as Commander, Combined Joint Task Force Consequence Management in Kuwait from March 2002 to February, 2003. Boddington has been selected for promotion to brigadier general. "Not too many people are aware of Craig's 30 years of service in the Marine Corps, but he brings more than his hunting experience to the table for SureFire," Hopkins said. SureFire is a military contractor. SureFire WeaponLights(tm) are widely used by U.S. forces in Iraq and Afghanistan. SureFire also manufactures sound suppressors for small arms and Picatinny rail forends. Boddington will assist SureFire in its military and government sales, in full compliance with private employment disclosure requirements of Marine Corps reserve officers. If his freelance writing, hunting and SureFire work won't keep Boddington busy, his other activities will. He serves as president of the Roy E. Weatherby Foundation and is a consultant to Boone %26 Crockett's publications committee.
