Our 26' custom Harris "Fisherman" Pontoon boat has over two hundred square ft. of fishing room with a capacity for a dozen people. This customized fishing boat is outfitted with a quiet 115hp Honda four stroke motor along with all the latest electronic fishing equipment and tackle; whether you want to troll for deep water Lake Trout and Salmon or cast around for Bass and Pike, this vessel is like your own private fishing island. Unlike regular fishing boats where comfort is secondary and you have to climb over the boat to get in, this boat has extremely comfortable seating for 12 people and the ability to walk aboard from the dock thru an open door; a necessity for people with any physical disability. This larger style custom pontoon is a very stable boat on the water and has room all around the boat, so you won't be confined to just the back end of the boat. Our fishing vessel is inspected yearly by the state of NY and approved for 12 people. Your captain, Ed Lockhart, is a licensed Joint Pilot/Engineer and a licensed outdoor guide with a perfect safety record.

We hunt throughout the state in public and private hunting units with your choice of bow, muzzleloader or rifle where there are large populations of big game.

In addition to elk, there are excellent herds of mule deer and wild turkey in abundance. We also guide hunts for bear, cougar, bighorn sheep, turkey and antelope. We will assist you in drawing a public big game license in the public draw.

Guaranteed landowner elk tags are available for an additional fee for those individuals who are unsuccessful in drawing a public elk tag.

All meals, lodging and accommodations, transportation, packing and field dressing of game, pickup/return to Albuquerque airport and photos will be provided on your hunt.

I cannot stress the importance of conditioning your body for an Elk. The style of hunting is not the same as Whitetail hunting. This is an Elk, a very large, big game animal. I have seen hunters come to the Rockies to hunt Elk, only to find out that they were not in shape. This is no joking matter, and needs to be taken very seriously. If you are from other parts of the country you will have to deal with the fact that the air is thinner, and breathing can be a chore. Remember, you must go to the Elk; they are not going to come to you. That may be a matter of a small hike or a hike of many miles. And if you should get one you have to then get it out.

If you are on a guided hunt you will have the experience of the guide with you, but if you are on a self-guided hunt, you could be in for a task that will devastate you. Thinking you "are" in shape for this isn't enough. You need to be sure. When you are on your hunt, it is not the time to find out that you are not in shape. Seek the advice of your doctor to set up an exercise program. You will not be hunting hard for one day, but you may be hunting hard for 7 days or more. You may also be hunting in elevations of up to 10,000 feet or more.

Don't let your poor physical condition ruin your hunt. You will probably be hunting with a pack on your back as well, something many of you may not be used to. Get a good pack that can do the job you want it to do, and be comfortable on you as well. That'll all be extra weight that you are not accustomed to. You will need to strengthen your upper body as well as your legs to cope with the reality of Elk hunting. Conditioning may not be the answer to hunting success, but believe me; it will certainly play a big part. It will help eliminate two limiting factors, exhaustion and fatigue.  "this is the most comfortable and practical fishing boat on the market"

This boat is customized by the Harris company for comfort, superior fishing and comes equipped with a large live well, bait tank, Scotty downriggers, a 'rest' room, multiple fish finders, a cover for sun or weather and seating for a dozen persons. Our top quality helm chairs swivel to face the water, so you can fish like a pro or sit back and enjoy the Adirondack surroundings. Pontoon boats offer much more space than regular boats, instead of cramping people in the back of the boat, you can use the entire boat for fishing. Able to go in much shallower water in pursuit of fish, this boat offers casting room for all and is very stable on the water. It is more enjoyable to fish closer to the water than way up off the lake like some boats are, you are closer to the action! Our 115hp four stroke Honda motor is clean, fast, reliable and quiet. Free Dockside Pickup! No driving worries, we will come to you! If you're staying at a Lake George lakefront motel, resort, time share, condo or private rental we will come to you. If you are planning a camping trip to a Lake George island (Long Island), I will come to your site and pick you up; first class service!! We can also meet you at the public docks located near the steel pier in Lake George village (click on photo below to view location). Boat departs 3 times daily at 7am-11am 12pm-4pm and 5pm-8pm all trips are made with reservations and a modest deposit. There may be locations for dockside pickup that require our boat to travel a few miles or more, we do pick up at most locations within reasonable distance. When you charter with us you will not have the worry of security deposits, filling a gas tank for $4 a gallon, or the responsibility of costly repairs. Our rate for two people is less than $60 per hour for a larger style new 26' Harris pontoon boat with a 115 hp Honda four stroke motor; along with this you are supplied the finest fishing gear, bait, lures and a native Lake George guide at your service. Leave the driving to us, a designated driver may be a good thing if you mix fishing with a favorite beverage. PER PERSON RATE We offer a per person rate for fishing parties of six persons or more. Our 4 hour half day trip is $65.00 per person and the 3 hour trip is $50 per person.

3 hour evening Bass fishing trips offer calm water and hot fishing. We fish from 5pm till dark for Bass, pan fish or Pike. A friendly reminder. Many hours are spent "behind the scenes" preparing a trip for your enjoyment and pleasure. With the ever rising cost of fuel, bait, tackle, dockage, maintenance and insurance; the fishing business and boating have become an expensive sport. Lockhart guide service provides the finest quality fishing vessel, tackle, rods and a pilot/guide, for less than the cost of a small rental boat. With jet ski rentals at $150 per hour; our boat is 10 times bigger, one third the price and can take the whole family. For a safe, enjoyable and memorable experience on beautiful Lake George; come fishing with a guide who wants to show you a good time on your vacation. Reminder: Our pro guides are full time guides and your tips are important to them. Tips help offset the ever rising cost of materials, maintenance and to allow them the opportunity to fish full time and provide you with top of the line equipment and services. We recommend you bring clothes to suit the weather, soft soled shoes, sunglasses, camera, a fishing license and beverages of your choice. All items brought on board are the responsibility of the owner. You are welcome to bring alcoholic beverages, we do not provide beer. Your Captain prefers payment at the beginning of the trip in cash, certified check or money order, we do not accept credit cards on the boat.
