If you're of the fortunate people who is able to draw a hunting license you're probably anticipating an exciting hunt. Colorado is one of the few places with such a diversity of big and small game hunting.  Everything from monster elk to mule deer to trophy bucks Colorado hunting has all.

private land only licenses are available by application only on private land in specific units.  You have to get the land owners approval before hunting on private land.  Also ranching for wilderness licenses are not private land only licenses.  Ranching or wildlife licenses are available only by application and drawing.  And only available to Colorado residents.

Also remember when you purchase your license you may need to purchase a habitat stamp which runs five dollars.

Hangman ranch is also offering a rifle and bow hunting for elk and mule deer on 400 acres in the Rockies their hunts are non-guided and only a limited number of hunters are allowed.  James Creek outfitters is currently offering guided hunts for mule deer, elk and mountain lion and currently have muzzleloader and archery hunt still unavailable.  They're fully guided five day hunts with room and board start at $2600 for an archery hunt and a half combination elk and deer hunts starting at $2900.  For those he you who are looking to put some meat on the table they have cow elk hunts for $750 which include three days of hunting no food or lodging and age additional cattle is only $250.  One of the great things about their property is that it's been owned by the same family since 1951 in the Ranch has been a favored hunting location for over 100 years.  It's located in the heart of northwestern Colorado's prime hunting County and they have been offering exclusive hunting opportunities on private ground by permit in area 12 and 13.
